Sjekk ut den engelske Twitter-kontoen her!

For at dere også skal bli litt bedre kjent med den ansvarlige for vår nye engelske Twitter har vi fått sendt over noen spørsmål til Jesvin. Spørsmål og svar følger på engelsk.

Can you tell the fans a bit about yourself and you relationship with football?

- My name is Jesvin Nellissery and I’ve lived my whole life in England between Birmingham and Manchester, Birmingham is my home city and Manchester is where I stay for University. I was introduced to football from a very young age as my family were all Arsenal fans so that was the club I grew up with, but I found a lifelong connection with Borussia Dortmund which is the team I support with my heart. I’ve lived with football my whole life and there’s no other sport that comes close to having such a major impact in my life.

- At University, I am studying Sports Business and Sports Broadcasting because my ultimate dream is to be a sports commentator and this degree helps me towards that dream. I’ve always dreamed of working in the football or sports world and being at this University and doing this degree goes a long way for me achieving it.

How did you find out about our club?

- It’s a weird story but I created a player career on FIFA 18 and randomly picked a club to start at, it landed on Aalesund and I looked more into the club and read up on players like Tor Hogne Aarøy and Amund Skiri. I then took notice of them but the real sort-of fandom I had with the club was in 2021 after I managed them in the game Football Manager 22. I am still playing the save to this day where I’ve turned Aalesund into one of the best teams in Norway with multiple league and cup wins, and even won the Europa Conference League with the team in the year 2040! I became attached to many players in the save like Simen Bolkan Nordli and Nikolai Hopland and I’ve been a fan of the club since then! It was also amazing to see when the club signed Ole Martin Kolskogen during this recent transfer window, because I signed him in my FM save as well and he became a club legend and retired at the club after 13 years of service to the Tangotrøyene!

What stood out about Aalesund FK to you?

- Again this might sound weird, but the Orange kits were what drew my eyes to the team, and then having looked more at the club and where they are from, the city of Ålesund was a beautiful one indeed and I really loved how scenic everything looked in the city with the mountains and the coastline. Those were the main things that stood out to me about Aalesund.

Being a fan is one thing, but what made you want to contribute on our Twitter as well as a volunteer?

- During my Football Manager save with the club, I created a twitter account dedicated to the save and treated it like I was doing a real club’s twitter account announcing team lineups, new signings, final scores and so on. While doing that, I noticed the Aalesund twitter account and I was looking at the club and thinking “I would love to see if I can get the club to be known to more English-speaking fans”. So I emailed the club about the possibility of me doing this and they were so kind to let me do it, and here we are! I’ve enjoyed it greatly and hopefully it can go on to be a successful adventure!

What is your dream in football?

- As I said before, the ultimate dream is to be a commentator for sports, not just football because I have a passion for many sports like Cricket, American Football and F1. But, if that option doesn’t succeed then I’ll be happy to have a role in a media department for a sports team, no matter the sport.

Will you ever come and visit?

- I would absolutely love to come and visit! I’m not sure when the opportunity to come will happen, but for sure it will be something I HAVE to do in the near future! During the summer months would be brilliant because the European football season will be finished and University studies would be finished for the year too, so possibly in that time I could come and visit my home away from home! 🧡💙
